Have enjoyed reading your blog. I have a question…where is Wakefield? I have a group of knitting friends and we have gone on a knitting retreat for many, many years. We too get together and carefully plan out our meals and prepare projects so that they’re at a good stage to hunker down and get busy when we arrive at our destination. The prep just lets us extend our knitting thoughts a bit longer than just the planned for time away! Loved your pictures and your excitement!
Hi Cheryl, I’m glad you enjoy the blog. Wakefield is north of Ottawa in Quebec. It is a lovely quaint and quirky village nestled in the Gatineau hills, on the gorgeous Gatineau River.
hi my is samuel i was wondering if you would be able to do shorts or pants from a design i give you.
Hi Samuel, sorry but we all have day jobs and barely find time to knit everything we want to knit for family and the occasional friend. If you are adventurous, here is a tutorial on how to turn an old pullover into a pair of pants. They are pretty wild looking but could also be a lot of fun! http://westknits.com/index.php/2013/11/swants-tutorial/
Hello Ladies, met you at the Almonte Fiberfest last fall and was very impressed with your woollies. Do you have a ‘home store’ where one can visit to buy your wool? Couldn’t find a contact number to call.
Hello Rachel, Sorry it took so long to reply to you. You can find Riverside Studio yarns on my Etsy store katsriversidestudio@etsy.com
Or if you happen to visit the Wakefield, Quebec area you can have a studio visit by appointment. Just email kathdrysdale@gmail.com
Hi I was wondering if you will be having another knitting retreat this fall? It looks like it was amazing.
Hi Carli, The knitting retreat will be in the spring this year on the last weekend in May. Stay tuned to the blog to hear the details. ps, it is a really fun retreat!
I am not a knitter. I quilt. But I really want learn how to mend holes in my favourite sweaters. Don’t think I am up to an entire knitting weekend. Can you help or redirect me?
Is your workshop at the Reid Barn?
Thank you.
Cathie
Hi Cathie, you can come for just the sweater repair class if you would like. I’ll send you an email with the details, just double checking with Maureen. Yes, it is at the Reid Barn.
